Our NSW and Victoria JGIA teams were lucky enough to be invited to the Australian premiere of War for the Planet of the Apes on June 26th. The film is made with incredibly realistic CGI and showcases that there is simply no need for the use of live primates in the entertainment industry. The movie also honours an exciting new partnership between 20th Century Fox and JGI to provide care for rescued chimpanzees at Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in Republic of Congo, which houses the special chimpanzees in our Chimp Guardian program.
As special thanks for this partnership, JGI has named housing on Tchindzoulou Island, the largest of the three island sanctuary sites at Tchimpounga, after War for the Planet of the Apes’ hero chimpanzee character, Caesar. If you would like to support Tchimpounga today too, please become a Chimp Guardian for only $25 a month. Our team, and Dr Jane loved the film, and we hope that you will too!
