HOW DO I USE THE RESOURCE PACK?
The resource pack provides everything you need to lead the program over 10 lessons. You can confidently use this unit to meet Science or Geography outcomes – and help to provide habitat for local biodiversity too!
Our comprehensive Teachers Guide provides clear steps to build understanding, complete with case studies. As part of the booking process we will work with you to select a champion animal (per class) that is locally relevant.
The package includes a Teaching Guide that will provide detailed instructions to present the 10 ‘Actions’ that form part of the program:

ACTION 1: CHOOSE A CHAMPION ANIMAL
Key inquiry question: What animals may live in my immediate area?

ACTION 2: KNOW YOUR CHAMPION ANIMAL
Key inquiry question: What are the requirements of our local animals?

ACTION 3: Habitat Connectivity
Key inquiry question: How do the natural areas near the school connect up to provide habitat for animals?

ACTION 4: Habitat Survey
Key inquiry question: What habitat does the school site already provide suitable for your Champion Animal?

ACTION 5: Habitat Asessment
Key inquiry question: What habitat improvements can be made to make sure all habitat requirements are met for your Champion Animal?

ACTION 6: Sustainable Populations
Key inquiry question: What other factors can influence animal survival?

ACTION 7: Design a Wild Habitat
