JGIA Leadership Council (fomerly National Youth Leadership Council, NYLC)

What is the JGIA Leadership Council (fomerly National Youth Leadership Council, NYLC)?

Inspired by the mission of Dr Jane Goodall, the National Youth Leadership Council is our youth leadership network. The program provides emerging leaders from around Australia with the opportunity to connect and learn from one another, while inspiring positive change within their communities.

Throughout the 9-month program, youth leaders from across Australia will be connect with Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Australia community through:

  • Peer Learning: Receive science communication training to effectively share research

  • Social Events & Coffee Catch-Ups: Build friendships at in person and online seminars

  • Local volunteering: Volunteer with a Roots & Shoots Team in your state or territory

  • Global Engagement: Learn at diverse year-round professional development events facilitated by our Asia Pacific network

  • Industry Mentoring: Partner with JGIA industry mentors to learn from real-world career experience
