Chimp Guardian: The Gift that Changes Lives

01 December 2017

Chimpanzees in the wild today face serious threats such as illegal commercial bush-meat poaching, habitat loss and destruction, infectious diseases and exotic pet trade. When the orphaned infants arrive at the Jane Goodall Institute’s Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rebilitation Center in the Republic of Congo, they are often distressed, traumatised, injured, sick or malnourished. As Jane says, “When you meet chimpanzees, you meet individual personalities. When a baby chimp looks at you, it’s just like a human baby. We have a responsibility to them.”

During this holiday gift-giving season, we would love your help in fulfilling that responsibility. For as little as $100, you can provide care for an infant chimp, while giving your friends or family members the gift of becoming a Chimp Champion. Together, you will be helping the JGI team provide the specialised treatment and care that our chimpanzees need, as well as a safe haven in which to grow and live. It is a memorable and meaningful gift that can truly change lives. Please visit our Chimp Guardian webpage to adopt today.
