Donations general terms
The Jane Goodall Institute of Australia (JGIA) is a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and accepts donations to it made by individuals and corporations (the donor). Donations may be made as a one-off payment or as an ongoing, monthly subscription. Donations over the value of AU$2.00 are tax-deductable. Eligible one-off donations have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Tax Office* and will be identified on your generated receipt. Donations will be receipted monthly through Nation Builder.
Donations made online on this website via a donation platform website (Nation Builder). These donations, but for those pending authorisation by PayPal (e.g. due to accruing over one thousand dollars in refunds) are processed in real time using a secure payment gateway. An email confirmation will be sent to donors, accepting their donation (including details of donation option and amount) once the donor has submitted their online donor form. Donations are processed in Australia (and for all other countries) in Australian Dollars.
Obligations of prospective donors at time of donation
It is the obligation of prospective donors to ensure that they have selected the correct donor option (e.g. monthly donation, one-off donation, donation gift certificate) and donor amount at the time of clicking ‘I agree’. Donors acknowledge that they have read these Terms and Conditions and evidence that acknowledgement by filling out this form you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
All website donations must be paid by VISA, Mastercard or PayPal via payment gateway on our donation website.
Cancellation of monthly donations
Donors are able to discontinue their monthly donation at any time by email. If you require assistance cancelling your donation, simply email admin@janegoodall.org.au. Please allow 10 business days for the processing of your cancellation request. Your funds may not appear on your bank balance immediately and is contingent on the processing period of your respective bank account. Contact your bank for further details if you require further information.
Disputes and Refunds
All complaints, grievance and disputes will be treated seriously and attended to in a timely manner having due regard to procedural fairness and confidentiality. All parties are required to participate together, in good faith, to resolve the dispute. If you believe there has been an error with your donation, you should notify us directly at admin@janegoodall.org.au as soon as you are aware of the error. JGIA will endeavour to work with you to resolve any problems as quickly and as fairly as we can. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can refer it to your financial institution, which will obtain details of the disputed transaction and may lodge a claim on your behalf. All claims for refunds of donations will be assessed by JGIA on a case by case basis.
CHIMP GUARDIAN
Donations to the JGIA’s Chimp Guardian program allows the donor to sponsor one of the chimpanzees listed on the JGIA’s Chimp Guardian website. For their contribution, the donor will receive a Chimp Guardian Welcome Package via the email address provided, containing the following information depending on their donation type:
Chimp Guardian monthly donation:
- One Chimp Guardian Certification including date of issue, Jane Goodall’s signature, sponsor’s first and last name (if it is a gift, a gift certificate version is issued which includes all of the above, but includes the name of the giver and recipient of the gift);
- A document containing information about the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center;
- A document containing information about the Chimp Guardian Program; and
- A document containing information about the adopted chimpanzee.
Chimp Champion one-off donation:
- One Chimp Champion Certificate including date of issue, Jane Goodall’s signature. Sponsor’s first and last name (if it is a gift, a gift certificate version is issued which includes all of the above, but includes the name of the giver and recipient of the gift);
- A document containing information about the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center; and
- A document containing information about the Chimp Guardian Program.
Junior Chimp Champion one-off donation:
- One Junior Chimp Champion Certificate including date of issue, Jane Goodall’s signature, sponsor’s first and last name (if it is a gift, a gift certificate version is issued which includes all of the above, but includes the name of the giver and recipient of the gift) in addition to the name of the adopted chimpanzee; and
- A document containing information about the adopted chimpanzee.
ONLINE SHOPPING
General terms and methods of payment
All website orders must be paid by VISA, MasterCard. In the event of any default of payment, any resulting fees or other costs will be borne by the customer. The goods remain the property of JGIA until full payment is received. The goods will shipped to the customer as soon as possible upon JGIA receiving cleared payment in full.
Prices are quotes in Australian dollars.
All prices are correct at the time of online publication. Prices are subject to change without notice. JGIA reserves the right to rectify prices quoted in the invoice, if found to be incorrect.
Delivery- products
Please note that orders within Australia are sent via Australia Post standard mail/registered mail. All Australian orders should include a daytime delivery address and contact details.
International orders are sent by standard Post unless otherwise requested. Additional charges may apply.
In the event that the customer wishes to arrange for expedited shipping, please email us at shop@janegoodall.org.au and allow 5 business days for a response. Additional charges may apply.
Delivery delays
All items are promoted in good faith to be available at the time of ordering. Unforeseen supply problems or unexpected demand may occasionally result in stock being unavailable. Should there be a delay in dispatching your order we will contact you to advise you on the reason for the delay.
Returns and refunds
Please contact us for refunds and returns by email at admin@janegoodall.org.au before returning goods.
Requests for refunds of goods purchased must be made within a week of receiving those goods.
Goods must be returned in their original, unopened packaging.
Goods will be accepted for store credit or replacement at the sole discretion of JGIA. Delivery and packaging charges are not refundable unless as a result of our error or manufacturing defect.
JGIA will at all times comply strictly with the requirements of Australian Consumer Law.
PRIVACY
Your right to privacy is very important to us. We recognise that providing us with personal information is an act of trust. Therefore, we have created a privacy policy to protect your personal information and outline how we manage information. This policy covers all sites (including social networking and our main website) owned or operated by the Jane Goodall Institute Australia (JGIA) ABN 98 125 319 771. We encourage you to take the time to read our privacy policy and direct any questions to us via email at info@janegoodall.org.au. This policy is in accordance with the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012, including the 13 Australian Privacy Principles. The Privacy Policy applies to all individuals whose personal information may be collected by JGIA.
